From the Racetrack to the Factory Floor

My Story
I was the only Asian kid in my El Salvador classroom. My dad’s from Taiwan, my mom’s from El Salvador, and growing up, our dinner table had chopsticks next to forks, Taiwanese dishes next to Salvadoran ones. Most kids in that situation would try to blend in. I went the other way, and leaned in.
That feeling stuck. I don’t like wearing what everyone wears. Or doing something just because it’s popular. When I win something, I want to win it in a way no one else thought of. Uniqueness isn’t just a preference, it’s how I’m wired. It shows up in how I build cars, how I lead, and how I run this business.
Being half Taiwanese and half Salvadoran gave me a perspective that doesn’t fit into one box. I speak three languages, I’ve lived in different countries, and I pull ideas from disciplines that have nothing to do with each other. That’s been useful when solving problems most people wouldn’t know where to start.
My approach comes down to something simple: less is more, makes more. If something isn’t adding value, we remove it. We focus our energy on what actually moves the business forward, and we build systems that work without unnecessary complexity.
What Drives Me
My team tells me I’m known for two things: being an accelerator, someone who makes things happen, and being an upgrader, someone who takes things to the next level. Whether it’s a car, a project, or a whole business, I’m always looking for the next level. Once I find it, I like to get everyone moving towards it.
I love my people. I believe companies are built by people, not just by strategy. We work hard to create an environment where our team, at every level, can do their best work. That means clear systems, high standards, and treating people with respect.
I’m also focused on sustainability. We built our own recycling operation, which gives us more control over our supply chain and lets customers return products for repurposing instead of throwing them away. It’s better for the environment, and it’s also just better business.

Beyond the Business
When I’m not working, I fish, fly planes, rebuild classic cars, and spend time with my wife and kids. The outdoor stuff keeps me healthy and clears my head. The car projects activate a different kind of creativity, figuring out how all the pieces fit together to make something that works better than it did before.
I love architecture. I’ve designed buildings, including our factory and a couple beach houses. Not just for aesthetics, but for how light moves through them, how practical they are, how they feel. It’s problem-solving in a different form, and it scratches the same itch as running a business.
